At Redwood Country Day Camp, pickleball is more than just a sport—it’s an exciting way for campers to develop coordination, build teamwork, and boost confidence in a fun and supportive environment. As one of the fastest-growing active sports, pickleball is a dynamic and inclusive game that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. Whether campers are complete novice players, intermediate players, or advanced players, our structured pickleball lessons help them improve their skills while making lasting camp memories.
Our pickleball courts are always buzzing with energy. With supervised coaching and engaging games, every camper has the opportunity to advance their skills in a way that feels fun and rewarding.
The Benefits of Pickleball at Redwood
Pickleball is an easy-to-learn but highly strategic sport that challenges campers both physically and mentally. The benefits of pickleball at Redwood include:
A Sport for Everyone – With its smaller court size and slower-paced nature, pickleball is accessible to beginner level players while still offering challenges for advanced players.
Skill Development – Campers build hand-eye coordination, agility, and quick reflexes through practice techniques tailored to their level.
Teamwork and Sportsmanship – Playing in pickleball group lessons teaches campers valuable life skills like communication, cooperation, and respect for teammates and opponents.
Confidence Boosting – Learning a new skill, mastering basic playing strategies, and seeing improvement over time give campers a sense of accomplishment.
A Fun and Active Camp Experience – Pickleball keeps campers engaged with dynamic gameplay and plenty of opportunities to challenge themselves while having fun.

Why Pickleball is the Perfect Camp Activity
Pickleball is a fantastic addition to Redwood’s active sports lineup, offering campers a unique blend of fast-paced action, skill-building, and team dynamics. Unlike other high-intensity sports, pickleball allows for dynamic gameplay while remaining approachable for all ages and ability levels.
For campers who may be hesitant about traditional sports, pickleball provides a low-pressure, high-fun alternative that fosters growth, resilience, and excitement.
One of the best parts of pickleball at Redwood is the sense of community that develops among campers. Our enthusiastic pickleball players encourage one another, celebrate progress, and create friendships through shared experiences on the pickleball courts.
